Kelly Braun

Kelly Braun heads up the User Experience practice at 11 Main.com.  11 Main, is a curated marketplace of shops and boutiques which launched in Fall 2014.

Kelly has spent the last 15 years building and leading User Experience Research organizations at WalmartLabs, PayPal and eBay. Her focus has been to increase the usability of marketplace, financial, and retail websites and to educate corporations on the importance of great customer experience.  In 1999, Kelly joined eBay and built their first usability team. She has focused on usability in eCommerce as a strategic lever for increasing business success ever since.

Kelly has been involved in the Human-Computer Interaction field for 30 years as both a computer scientist and cognitive psychologist. She holds a BS in Computer Science from Georgia Tech and a PhD in Cognitive Psychology from Duke University.

Kelly started her career with Bell-Northern Research (BNR) where she won the BNR Postgraduate Scholarship which permitted her to pursue her PhD full time. When she returned to BNR she focused on reducing human error related system outages through hardware solutions. After BNR, Kelly spent several years as a user researcher with Oracle focused on database administration software.

Throughout her career, Kelly has participated in numerous professional conferences, panels and papers and is a co-author of the book "Usability: The Site Speaks for Itself."

Kelly was the first woman editor-in-chief of the Georgia Tech student newspaper "The Technique" and was recognized as one of Georgia Tech's "50 Firsts" celebrating 50 years of women at Georgia Tech.
