Leo Schlinkert is President and CEO of Communicator Inc, which provides services that speed the secure electronic exchange of critical information between thousands of Wall Street broker-dealers and institutional money management firms worldwide. Communicator Inc services enable secure, real-time collaboration across company or agency divisions, organizations, locations and time zones resulting in faster collaborative decisions, stronger relationships and reduced operational costs. Communicator Inc services include: Hub Connex—the leading financial, industry specific, secure real-time messaging service handling millions of messages a month between dealers and institutional investors by using features including: content distribution, alerting, discussion forums, enterprise instant messaging, and directory services.
Compliance Hub—allowing firms to securely exchange and manage critical compliance and operational information with their counterparties to help ensure they meet regulatory requirements for Qualified Institutional Buyer verification, Equity IPO Eligibility, ISDA Confirms and other operational and compliance documentation.
Communicator Inc identity management and content aggregation services—providing single sign on and secure commingling of client’s proprietary information. These services drive several Wall Street online consortia including Securities.Hub and Fxall. Securities.Hub is the Street’s leading source for dealer Fixed Income information and delivers more than 800 analyst’s and trader’s daily news and research, bond market prices and data to over 25,000 institutional investors in over 60 countries. Fxall is the leading Foreign Exchange hub with over 50 multinational banks that is the leading utilized by Foreign Exchange professionals to electronically gather critical market information in one location.
Communicator’s clients include: Alliance Capital, Bank of America Securities, Citigroup, Credit Suisse First Boston, Dow Jones, Fxall, Goldman Sachs, ICAP-Garban-International, JPMorgan, Lehman Brothers, Merrill Lynch, Miller Tabak Securities, Morgan Stanley, Northwest Mutual Life, Pimco, Securities Hub, UBS and Wachovia.
In June 2004 Mr. Schlinkert was named an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year for the Metropolitan New York Area. He was selected for the “Realizing Business Potential” award, a new category in 2004 sponsored by Microsoft Corporation created to recognize companies with less than 100 employees that have demonstrated success and growth by leveraging computer-related technology.
In recent years, Mr. Schlinkert has been involved in the creation of several industry electronic marketplaces, including Euro-MTS and Broker Tech. He has served on the Board of TradeWeb and the NASAD Blue Ribbon on Bond Transparency. Mr. Schlinkert also serves on the Advisory Board of the Georgia Institute of Technology, College of Computing. Prior to forming Communicator Inc in 1999, Mr. Schlinkert was a Managing Director at Salomon Smith Barney where he oversaw Global Fixed Income Electronic Commerce. During his 20 years with Salomon Mr. Schlinkert’s positions included Corporate Sales, Senior Fixed Income Strategist, Debt Capital Markets Sales, and Co-head of the Corporate Bond Department.
Mr. Schlinkert received his B.S. degree in Economics from Georgia Tech in 1980 and currently lives with his wife, Diane, and their three sons in Connecticut.
