Featured Projects

With the increasing presence of censorship on Chinese social media, it is imperative to provide the users of platforms such as Sina Weibo a way to freely share information without alerting the censors and systems of surveillance on social media. The aim of this project is to implement a Real-Time Keyword Aggregator that collects keywords that have most likely resulted in censorship of posts from various publicly available archives of censored sina weibo posts.
Through DataWorks, we hope to broaden participation in computing, and in the process, foster diverse approaches to data science, support equitable labor practices, and develop just forms of engagement between universities and communities.
Our AI agent (Frogger) explains its decisions in plain English—why do we need that? As Aritificial Intelligence (AI) becomes ubiquitous in our lives, there is a greater need for them to be explainable, especially to end-users who need not be AI experts. Come by to see how our system produces plausible rationales and understand how human perceptions of these rationales affect user acceptance and trust in AI systems.
