This concerns both past and future outages of the AAAI Robot Competition Server (that are not under my direct control).
First, apologies to anyone who tried to access the server this past weekend. Two preplanned outages occurred. One was a power outage courtesy of the utility company, and the other was a campus network outage which is just now ending.
THERE ARE MORE PLANNED OUTAGES IN FEBRUARY AND MARCH, so this is to warn you in advance, should you need to retrieve information. We are told that these will occur at the following times:
Monday FEB 3, 4:00 AM - Tuesday FEB 4, 7:00 AM (approx.) Saturday FEB 8, 8:00 AM - Tuesday FEB 11, 7:00 AM (approx.) Saturday March 1st - Tuesday March 4th (prob. ending around 7:00 AM) Saturday March 22nd- Tuesday March 25th (same) Saturday March 29th- Tuesday April 1st (same)
In addition to _possibly_ affecting the Web server, these may also affect email to Ron Arkin, to me, or to the AAAI97 mailing list. These are all occurring at our central computing/network support organization, NOT in our own organizations (the College of Computing and the Georgia Tech Research Institute), so we can't do much about it :(
SHOULD YOU NEED TO CHECK THIS MESSAGE LATER, IT WILL BE ARCHIVED ON THE WEB PAGES SHORTLY, along with all other messages sent to the AAAI97 list.
For more info on the outages themselves, check the Web URL http://www.gatech.edu/oit/Whatshot.
