Several decisions were made at the recent AAAI Fall Symposium regarding the competition:

1) All four events will be held. Rules committees for each event will be formed
shortly and the process of refining the actual events will begin.

2) It appears that AAAI will provide 2 pages each for up to 15 of the entrants in
the AAAI-97 Proceeedings. These will be required to be submitted to the
robot competition organizers no later than 3/15. Yes, that's March 15th.
So if you're interested in getting into the proceedings, you'd better get
started soon! The organizers (including the exhibition organizer) will review
these in short order for appropriateness and if more than 15 are received, we will
determine which will be published.

3) Prof. Robin Murphy of the Colorado School of Mines has graciously agreed to
serve as the fundraising chair for this year's event.

Good luck!
