Tuition and Fees
The program and tuition fees are estimated at:

 

Program Fee: $5211.00

 

GT Tuition & Fee: $1539.00 (9 hours)+$103.00 Technology Fee

 

Non-residents add $250.00

 

Air Travel Costs
The total cost of the optional group air travel is $1100.00. Of which half is due in February  with the remaining balance due end of February.

Payment Schedule
The first deposit for the program is due with the application. The final payment is due on end of March 09.

Payments will be paid directly to the Bursar

 

Other Expenses
Meals, books, and local transportation are additional, separate expenses. It's a good idea to bring some spending money for other travel and amusement.

Refund Policies
If you're going to cancel, do so before End of March 2009 for 1/2 fee refund.

Aid Information
Financial aid is available for tuition on the trip.

 

Applying to the Barcelona Program

All non-GA Tech students MUST be admitted as GT transient/special students (for study abroad), prior to applying to a study abroad program. This application MUST be received in OIE by Early March, 2009 - deadline cannot be extended.

Passport Information

Passport, visa and travel information: It takes 9 -14 Weeks to obtain a passport. Don't wait until the last minute!! If you have a passport, check the expiration date to be sure it has not expired or will not expire while you are in Spain.

If you do not already have a passport, you must obtain one as soon as possible! The program is not responsible for program fees lost due to unresolved passport issues.

To obtain or renew a US passport, you first need to complete the application. You may pick one up from a Post Office or download the application from the State's website: travel.state.gov/passport/index.html

When you go to the Post Office to submit your application, you'll need:

  • Proof of US citizenship (an original birth certificate or an old passport)
  • Two identical "2x2" passport photographs. The cost is usually about $10 for these
  • Check or money order ($97 for a new passport; $67 for a renewal)
  • Completed application

For more passport information or to locate the Post Office branches that accept passport applications, call the US Postal Service customer service at (800) 275-8777. The closest ones to GT are:

  • Midtown Post Office - 1072 West Peachtree Street
    (9am - 4pm Mon-Fri)
  • Howell Mill Post Office - Corner of Howell Mill Rd and Collier Road
    (9am - 5pm Mon-Fri; 9am - noon Sat)

At this time, US citizens do not require a Visa to enter Spain. (As a tourist, you are allowed a maximum stay of 90 days without additional permits or Visas).

It takes 9-14 Weeks to Obtain a passport. Don't wait until the last minute!!

Non-U.S. citizens must consult this website for a list of countries that do NOT require visas. If your country of citizenship is not on this list then you must apply for a visa. You must make an appointment at the Spanish Consulate in Miami. You must go to Miami to apply for your visa IN PERSON.
