General Lab Info
Also, remember that labs are only 10% of your grade. And you can drop one
of the 8. Don't stress out over these and spend hours and hours on them.
At most, a lab should take 2 hours.
Labs can be done at home, but lab time is given to allow you to have a
set time each week to do them, and to allow you access to the TAs in case
you need help. If you wish to do them exclusively from home, it will
not have any effect on your grade. Just realize that if you need help, it
may take longer.
General Lab Notes
To ease things, labs should be emailed directly to your TA. To make
things easier, it is suggested that you cc: yourself in the mail so you
can be sure it has been sent.
Due to how the class is taught, lab ordering may change at any time
without warning or prior notice. Labs are only assumed to be concrete and
definite after a link has been put up to them.
Labs:
Don't forget that labs are meant to give you practice in using Smalltalk
& Squeak, and to allow you to test out the various concepts I teach in
class. The point is that, by doing the labs, you will practice the skills
and become proficient enough in them to do the work in the assignments.
All labs are assigned on Monday and due by class time on the following
Wednesday. For those who wish to start early, every attempt will be made
to get labs up on the webpage by Monday morning. Labs will be considered
late if they are not received by your TA at that time and points will be
deducted accordingly. There are no exceptions to this rule.
