Guidelines for Assignment #5
(Final Group Project)
For the final group project, the following deliverables are due no later than December 6. They should be assembled in a fashion that affords easy access, indexing, communication and retrieval. The mode of presentation will be determined by each group.
Documentation
This part should serve as a chronicle of the design evolution from brief to final concept mock-up. Include the data gathering techniques used and the findings, the various models you developed (DFD or task models), scenarios and the requirements-functional and non-functional-that the group arrived at. Include sketches of alternative concepts you might have used at different points. Articulate the rationale you used in arriving at the final solution
Mock-up of design solution
Each group will demonstrate their design solution to the class. This means creating a mock-up that will allow you to simulate use in more than one scenario. You could create a Powerpoint presentation, a web-based presentation or even a video-tape. The audience should get a feel for how the interface works and how the user will interact with it.
Technical feasibility
Your solution must be technically feasible now or in the very near future. You need to demonstrate this feasibility in the document so we know that this is not "blue sky" technology.
Group evaluation
Develop a rubric for assessing the group as a whole and as individuals. Collect data from the group and include the results in the document. How you handle the confidentiality of the evaluation is up to you.
