Setup WebWork

By now, you have probably heard about WebWork- the system that you will be using to turn in your assignments this semester.

The first step you will have to take to use this system is to activate you account. To do so,

• login to acme (telnet or ssh)
• type the command

  ~cs1312/rbin/webset

  
  and hit enter.
  (yes that is cs1312, not cs1311)

• at the prompt in webset, type "YES" (without the "").
  You must type it in all capitals.
  

Read the output. If it gives you an error, then it is not sending you a password. Instead, either

1. you did something wrong (like spelling YES wrong)

   OR

2. you are not on the class roles

wait a little while (usually 10 seconds to a minute). Check your email. You should receive an email which has your randomly generated password in it.
Next, go to WebWork

if your web broweser asks you if you want to accept the certificate, then do so.

at the login screen, enter your login name (gtnumber), password
(from the email), and domain (cs1311).

once you login, change your password to something you can remember.

To Submit An Assignment

• login to WebWork
• click "Submit Assignment" on the menu
• select the assignment you want to submit from the drop down list
• for each file you wish to submit for that assignment,
  • click "Browse"
  • find the file
  • click OK
  • click Add
  • when all of the file(s) you want to turnin are on the list, click
    "Submit"
  • Follow the instructions on the screen for the rest.

To Retrieve A Submission

• login to WebWork
• click "Retrive Submission" on the menu
• select the assignment to retrive from the drop down list
• click continue
• the download of the zip file containing the file(s) that you
  submitted for that assignment should begin

To Find Out Recitation Information

To find out who your TA is, who your STA is, and where your recitation section meets, (Note, this information does NOT seems to be available yet, but
when it is entered, this is how you can find it)

• login to WebWork
• click "Profile" on the menu
• Under "You are a member of the following groups" it will list your
  recitation section (ie "A1A"). Click that link to display the
  group profile, which will include all relevant information.
