Posting Rules and Procedures

As we start the semester off, there are a few rules and procedures which we would like for you to follow in order to keep the many questions asked on this newsgroup simple to answer.

  1. Please use this newsgroup for questions relating to recitation, lectures, assignments, and TA policies.
  2. The subject of a post should be in the format of

assnX- pXX: some description of the problem you are having.

Here X is the number of the assignment and XX is the number of the
    problem you are asking about.

  3. We will try to answer all questions within 24 hours, but for some questions, the answers may not come as quickly.
  4. Read ALL the post about a particular problem number on a given assignment before posting a new message. This will help reduce the load of the same questions being asked more than once.
  5. DO NOT POST YOUR POSSIBLE ANSWER TO A QUESTION ON THIS NEWSGROUP.

This could be considered sharing your answer with others, and is also considered academic misconduct. If you have a question about your particular answer, it is best to e-mail a TA only.

  6. Harassment of any person on this newsgroup will not be tolerated.
  7. Lude or obscene language should not be used. If a post is made with such language it will be forwarded to the powers that be, and dealt with swiftly.
  8. Posting irrelevant information will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis.
  9. Grading issues should be worked out with the orginal grader. If you feel that this is not possible, you are more than welcome to email the TAs STA.
