Meeting scheduler project outline

The project will develop an automated system for scheduling meetings among co-workers through an interface to an existing on-line calendar database system. The system will support functions such as the following:

Calling a meeting

Canceling a meeting

Rescheduling a meeting

Notifying people of requests to attend a meeting

Avoidance of company and Government holidays

The system will be implemented using the client-server architecture in Java 1.2.

The system will not require users to replace their current online calendar systems

It will be window-based

The scheduler will choose the best time for a meeting based on the invited participants’ calendars. If no time is found at which everyone can meet, the system will support a negotiation process.
