Below you will find announcements made throughout the course, in reverse chronological order.
Announcements
Please see the newsgroup git.cc.class.cs4640 for all future announcements
Jan 10 2002
- Great News ! Because of a class cancellation, we will be meeting from now on in CCB 101, in the College of Computing Building, which is much more conveniently located. So I'll see you in CCB 101 on Tuesday, 9.30.
- After some mail troubles, I hope you all received the EXERCISE 1 handout by mail.
- All future exercises will be posted on the newsgroup git.cc.class.cs4640, which is now functional. I will try to avoid the mailing list in the future, so please subscribe to the newsgroup in order to stay current with the course. The newsgroup will also supplant this announcement page.
- Feel free to use the newsgroup to discuss lectures, exercises and assignments. Clearly, this needs to be done in a manner consistent with the GIT honor code, i.e. no solution or (substantial) code sharing unless explicitly allowed by the assignment. Clearly, technical questions on how to this or that in MATLAB or other questions of that nature are fair game.
- Caroline Pierrette Gattein is the TA for the course and can be reached by email at cgattein@cc.gatech.edu. She will have office hours twice a week, time and place will be posted later.
- Don't forget that by end-of class next week Thursday, you need to have formed a project group of 2-3 people. Auditing students are encouraged to join a group as an 'advisory' member but will not be expected to do any coding.

It was nice meeting you all today in class. I think we have a pretty motivated group, and I look forward to working with you during the semester.
