Problem
Data mining algorithms traditionally have focused on rapid processing
because of the large size of datasets. An alternative issue is selection
and invocation of a data-mining algorithm relevant to a given goal. A generalization
of this issue is dynamic and flexible design of a data-mining agent from
a library of data-mining algorithms.
Students will first read relevant papers and then design a task-directed multi-strategy data-mining agent (e.g., for accessing information from e-bay).
