The purpose of this assignment is to have you think a little more deeply about what is involved in evaluating an information visualization. You will do that by designing an evaluation of some visualization(s) from the course. Select a technique or system, and design an evaluation of it that will assess the effectiveness of the technique or system. Describe what the conditions of the study would be, who the participants would be, what you would measure, etc. You don't need to provide too many details---one page for the description should suffice.

Next, I want you to identify two key things. First, argue why this experiment would be useful, what it would tell us, how it would be valuable, etc. Basically, just articulate why you think this would be an experiment worth running. Second, describe what would be challenges or confounds in such a study. What would compromise the application of your results? Both these things should take up about a page as well.
