Notes on the IRB Approval Process

ALL students must complete the IRB process. Here's how:

  1. Complete CITI Training. Keep a copy of your Completion Certificate to be supplied to IRB or to the course staff on request.
  2. Request a user name and password for GaTech IRB WebWise, by downloading and complete the IRB Access Word Document, then email it to Melanie Clark [address below].)
  3. Once you have your IRB WebWise account by email, complete your IRB proposal using the IRB WebWise Protocols Page. Note: you will need a summary of the experiment, plus the Informed Consent, so you can cut and paste or upload the entire document, via the Web form. You may use the following Informed Consent [.doc, 32k] as a template; modify it as r equired for your project.
  4. You can begin to run your experiment once you have received IRB approval.

E-mail questions for IRB and WebWise account requests to Melanie Clark: melanie DOT clark AT osp DOT gatech DOT edu.
