What: 5 sentences describing what you will do (see detials below) and the name of who you will do it with. (expect a seperate email from that person too).

Reminder that I do want everyone to decide on the final project by
Thursday of this week. Please send me an email by Thursday
6pm.Barcelona Time.

The subject line should have 4475 (very important) and then Last Name
Final Project Proposal
(eg. 4475 Essa Final Project Proposal). IF YOU DO NOT FOLLOW THESE
INSTRUCTIONS, assume your project proposal was NOT recd.

In the text please specify in about 5 lines or so what you are going
to do. As I stated in class, combining this with other projects or
your own set of expertise is OK. I am happy to see your projects be
of direct relevance to your expertise (CS, Architecture, ID, ISYE, ME,
etc.). Optional, but strongly encouraged is to add an entry on the
class blogpage some initial images and mockups.

After this week, I will expect an update on your progress the week you
return from 4nd week off (July 3).

For those of you in Sabir's classes looking for project ideas (that is
why I am cc-ing him), look at http://sketchup.google.com/ and see if
there is something of interest to you there. I just saw there are some
models of barcelona (like the BCN pavillion) available there. Maybe
something to combine photography, documentation, and 3D models with
google earth could be done.

Problem Exercise 2: HDR Imaging

!HDR Imaging

!!Goal
To generate an HDR Image from a series of images of the same scene with a veriety of exposure setting.

!!Directions
#Take picture of an internal scene or an outside one with not too much sunlight
#Take a series of pictures without moving the camera (use a tripod)
#As possible change the exposure (the process is usually referred to as "bracketting"). This could be just changing the exposure by using the +/- option on the camera or by explicitly setting the exposure
#Use software like
** Adobe <> CS2 (make sure to clck on align images!)
** Photomatix by http://www.hdrsoft.com/
** HDRShop: http://www.ict.usc.edu/graphics/HDRShop/

**IF alignment of images is bad, try using a sofware available from <'s site that has a link to a ICP algorithm for alignment.

To look at an existing image, and do an autopsy, dissection, critique of how you think the "photographer" produced this image.

!!NOTE:
Critique #1 and #2 are merged.

!!!Due:
In class, Jun 19, 2005. Make sure the <> has the presentation before class begins.

!!!Procedure/Logistics:
