Consider this ethical dilemma:

You are President of a small software company with 72 employees. You specialize in Internet security. Your typical customers are corporations who wish to protect their intellectual property. You can help make sure that specific trade secrets are not divulged online either accidentally or deliberately by employees. You have been offered a contract to help the government of the People's Republic of China to censor the Internet more effectively.

Last year, your company had a total of $19 million in revenue. For the year, you operated at a slight net loss. This contract is for $9 million. With this added revenue, you should be able to exceed your fiscal targets for the year, and offer end-of-year bonuses to employees. Without it, the company will have a small net loss again.

Do you accept the contract? Construct a well-reasoned ethical argument for a course of action. Make sure to explicitly mention at least three ethical theories we studied earlier in the term (act utilitarian, rule utilitarian, Kantian, stakeholder analysis, and virtue ethics). Use one of the argument structures we studied (classical, delayed thesis, or Rogerian).
