Assignment
Questions 1 and 2 are long answer questions. Answer these with 2-3 paragraphs. All answers must be typed and printed. The hard copy with your answers must be turned in at the start of class on the due date.
Be sure to put your name and GTID on the top of every page of your assignment. Multiple pages should be stapled together.
This homework assignment must be done individually, it is not a group work assignment.
(1) In class we discussed some differences between the government, academic, and private sectors. We discussed three categories that can be used to compare each of these sectors: (a) motivations and methods for IT security, (b) interactions between sectors, and (c) what is done with the computer security technology they develop. Pick any two of these categories and describe the similaries and differences between the three sectors with respect to the categories you selected.
(2) List at least five places where computer security is important other than traditional server and desktop computers (i.e., IT security). Choose one of these to compare and constrast to IT security. Is the current state of security better or worse than IT security? What are the major security concerns? What is the motivation to fix these security concerns? What motivations do attackers have to break the security?
