- Read the course textbook online for free! Go to the library's Safari web page. After logging in, search for "Security in Computing" and the course text is the first result. Note that there's a limit to how many people can access the text online at any given time.
- Here's some interesting papers that provide a look back at some of the early, fundamental research in computer security: PSOS Revisited, Lessons from the Multics Security Evaluation, and Looking Back at the Bell-La Padula Model.
- Wikipedia has some useful statistics including the relative frequencies of letters in the English language and the most common English words. More useful letter frequency statistics including bigram, trigram, quadgram, common beginning or word letters, and common ending of word letters are listed on cryptograms.org
