Following are the steps to access the newsgroup from your PC via ACME:

1. First, you have to download the software SecureCRT from oit.gatech.edu 
   (the full link is here:
    https://software.oit.gatech.edu/request.php) with your gatech username and password 
    which is used to access your mail.gatech.edu email.

2. Install SecureCRT.

3. Run SecureCRT.

4. In the FILE menu, you should be able to select menu item: QUICK CONNECT...

5. Enter the following information:
  
    Protocol: SSH2
    Hostname: acme.gatech.edu
    Username: your school account (gtg...)

    Don't forget to check the save session checkbox.

6. Push the connect button
   The system will prompt a message, just select ACCEPT AND SAVE

7. Type the following command:
    echo git.cc.class.cs4400: >> .newsrc
    MAKE SURE IT IS CORRECT, if you type it wrong, you should type rm -fr .newsrc 
    then type the command above again.

8. Type pine to use the newsgroup.

9. The system will ask you for username and password again. Enter it with your account information.

10. A list of menu will be display and you use the UP/DOWN arrow key to go to FOLDER LIST Menu

11. You will have several options. Select option NEWS.

12. A list of newsgroup are shown, you should select the newsgroup CS4400.

13. In order to view a message, just use UP/DOWN arrow key to go to the newsgroup you want to 
    read/reply and then hit enter.

14. In order to post message to newsgroup, you should hit O (means other command), then C (means compose).

Now you can view/post message to newsgroup.
