Lecture Attendance
You are expected to attend all lectures. However, you are all adults and
I do not feel that it is necessary to explicitly track attendance. If you
skip a lecture and don't understand the material, that's your problem.
Grading (Tentative)
- 20% Homework (4 HW @ 5% each)
- 20% Midterm
- 30% Project
- 30% Final
Undergraduates (CS4290) and grad-students (CS6290) will be curved independently.
Homework (Including Problem Sets and Projects)
All work in this course is to be done by the individual student.
Collaboration with other students or other persons (for example, a friend
at another institution) is prohibited. Submitting any work other than your
own is a violation of the Academic Honor Code. Note that this is different
from discussing lecture material (such as re-explaining an idea covered in
class in a different manner or with a new example, or discussing what is
being asked in a homework problem). Anything involving the course
material is fair game (includes lectures, notes, the textbook, and
the homework descriptions).
Late Policy
All homeworks are due on the day specified by the problem set and posted
online. Homework will be handed in at the start of class on the day that
the assignment is due. No late homeworks will be accepted without an
official exemption.
Project
There will be some simulator hacking as part of this course. The early
get-your-feet-wet mini-labs will simply be integrated into your homework.
There will be a final project for the course.
Exams
Absolutely no collaboration at all. Copying or receiving any other information
from another person or their exam, with or without their consent, is unethical
and unacceptable. Cheating is a direct violation of the GT Academic Honor Code and
will be dealt with accordingly.
Ambiguities, Clarifications, Questions?
If you're unsure about anything, just ask the professor and/or consult the Academic
Honor Code at www.honor.gatech.edu.
