The following are transcribed comments from the classes pair 1 evaluations' free form response area. We have grouped them into Negative, Neutral, and Positive comments.

Negative Comments

I never actually met my partner. I emailed her before the first assignment and she had done it without me. I never could get in contact with her again. I just assumed she had dropped the class.

As a common curtsey, do not say you will do things and not do them; do not confirm a meeting and just not show up. It is just rude to do otherwise. You may not care about this course, but I do.

My partner did not answer emails or turn in work we had split up when he said he would.

Neutral Comments

My partner was excellent to work with. We got along well, and worked excellently together. I’m actually mad that we have to get new partners.

The person tried to do their part. Asked for help on things the person does not know.

It was really nice working with you. Your participation was excellent. The only thing (it didn't hurt our assignments, but...) Have patience, you learn more when you figure out the answers on your own as opposed to asking the TAs or the professor.

No complaints, the work got done. Perhaps we could have met up more frequently....

He was an acceptable partner. Sometimes it was hard to contact him, but he did do work.

He needs to be prepared for an assignment. However, he never missed any meetings and work.

Sometimes unresponsive to email, worked alone on first 3 HW's, code was functional when we worked together.

My partner was very nice and polite. My partner needs to work on contributing more to the assignment. Also, my partner needs to get their robot working because this will allow for a lot more contribution. My partner was easy to work with and very flexible.

Positive Comments

My partner was great! We worked very well together. Sometimes it was hard to work around our busy schedules though.

I thought everyone contributed equally. We worked well together.

She was great and always prepared. She always brought creative ideas.

X had some creative ideas for robot movement. She was active in brainstorming and managed to find errors in the code.

My partner worked really hard on every assignment. He took a lot of initiative and was always incredibly helpful. He generally understood the materials a lot better than me, so I feel the majority of the credit should go to him.

X is a cool guy. He tries to do his homework even if he does not understand. He tries to understand the concept during the meeting.

She was always on time and helped me with the programming.

X was always prepared for meeting with group members. She also understood the material well, and typically knew how to fix a problem. I think we worked well together.

They were both great to work with. Always prompt with emails and pulled their share of work. I would work with them again.

Awesome to work with! My partner was fantastic at finding the errors.

My partner was a great partner. They were always on top of the work we needed to do, and always showed up on time to work. They never complained or showed and problems helping me out either.

X was a very reliable, easy going partner who pulled his weight and made the paired programming experience easy and enjoyable.

She was always ready to work and contributed to the task at hand. She was easy to work with too.

X always gave 100%; she worked hard on the code. She always sought ways to make our meetings work. She answered questions and asked good ones in return.
