1. Visual C++ Express Edition is available for free from Microsoft's website. If you have not already done so, navigate to the download page and download the installer.
2. Double click the installer icon to launch the installer.
3. Click "Next" until you reach the Installation Options section. Only the Graphical IDE is needed. If you would like full documentation available while using the IDE, you may also select "Microsoft MSDN 2006 Express Edition". Note that the vast majority of the provided functions are not necessary in this class and that MSDN is also available online here.
4. At the next screen, verify that the the correct packages are being installed. If you wish to change the install location, you may do so now.
NOTE: If you already have Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 on your system, it does not need to be reinstalled. If it is not listed as above and you are sure that it is installed, then continue anyway.
5. The proper programs will nw be downloaded and installed. This may take a few minutes.
6. The installation is now complete. However, it is necessary to register the software within 30 days. You may follow the steps the program suggests now, or choose "Register Product..." from the Help menu at a later time.
