Course Info
Textbooks: Do you really want to buy another $90 textbook? For this class, we're going to be
using a combination of class notes and online resources. Not using a formal textbook, however,
means that attendance will be incredibly important for this class!
Grading
Your grade for this course will come from two primiary components: the
assignments/project and exams. The first two assignments are to be done by
yourself, and the remaining assignments are to be done in teams. Assignments
3-6 are effectively the term project (building the processor and then the
rest of the system to implement a simple video game). The weightings are given
as follows:
- Assignment 1: 5% (solo)
- Assignment 2: 5% (solo)
- Assignment 3: 10% (team)
- Assignment 4: 10% (team)
- Assignment 5: 10% (team)
- Assignment 6: 20% (team)
- Midterm: 10% (solo)
- Check-Up Quiz: 5% (solo)
- Final Exam: 25% (solo)
We will not explicitly be checking attendance. Note, however, that since we're not using
a textbook for this course, I can assure you that there will be a very strong correlation
between your attendance and your grades.
