Spring 2009 CS 3651 Rube Goldberg Machines
CS 3651 - "The Art of Prototyping Intelligent Appliances" teaches computer science students just enough Electrical and Mechanical Engineering to be dangerous, and enough safety to not injure themselves or others. The purpose of the class is to teach CS students how to interface with the "real world", and create computer controlled devices that use sensors and actuators. As a first step towards this goal, the students are tasked with building a simple Rube Goldberg machine to get hands-on experience with tools, motors, bearings, structures, adhesives, and DANGER!
