2)  Key for Sample Exam 1 will be posted Wed at noon - 24 hours before the exam.

 

3) The structure of Exam 1 is as follows :

 

90 minute duration and CLOSED BOOK.

 

Q1. Short notes on basic concepts. (may come from mainly chapters 1,2. But 3,4,7 also included).

 

Q2. ER and EER Modeling and mapping to relational model. (Ch. 3,4,7).

 

Q3. Relational Model and Codd's Paper. (Ch.5)

 

Q4. Relational Algebra, Tuple calculus and Domain Calculus. (Ch.6) - no queries involving universal quantifiers
