Research Paper Proposal Guidelines:

 

1. Paper proposals can be for survey papers as well as original work where you combine what is in the literature with your own ideas. (e.g.- issues in web-search from mobile devices; an architecture for integration and querying of bio-medical data sources).

 

2. Describe in one patragraph your focus in the paper and the broad topic. Do not choose very broad topics like "data mining" or "concurrency control"

 

3. Give a rough outline of paper section by section. (this is preliminary and not binding on you at all). Say in one or two sentences what will be in each section after you give the section heading.

 

4. Include at least 3 good paper references. If the topic is commercially oriented, trade magazines etc are acceptable; otherwise not.

 

The whole thing should NOT exceed 2 pages.
