Description
CS 6601 is a 3-credit graduate-level introductory course on Artificial Intelligence that serves as a
"gateway" to more advanced courses in AI, ML, and Intelligent Systems.
Objectives
The learning objectives of the course are to (i) Get a broad overview of Artificial Intelligence,
(ii) Develop an understanding of basic AI concepts and methods, (iii) Develop an understanding of
AI research issues and methods, and (iv) Develop design skills in building simple intelligent agents.
Format
The course will consist of class lectures and discussions, a number of reading assignments, five design projects,
and two examinations. Several home works will be assigned but not graded. Students will take turns taking class notes
and posting them on class swiki accessible from the class webpage. Class participation is strongly encouraged.
