Why are electronic gov-docs important?
The tremendous expansion of online resources has definitely included sites for Government Information at all levels and of various quality. The organization and design of the sites is slowly improving. A directive to make all federal government information available electronically by 1998 has driven the pace of conversion among federal agencies, often at the cost of sacrificing the traditional, print methods of disseminating their documents. For that reason, it is particularly wise to become familiar with some key site, though this list is by no means comprehensive.
