Grading Policy

• Midterm 25%
• Final 33%
• Design (1) and Programming (3) Assignments 32%
• Lab Assignments (7) 10% (Lowest grade will be dropped)
• Participation in class is highly encouraged and may be considered in borderline cases (CS2390 CoWeb and newsgroup participation, discussion in class, etc.)

Letter grades are assigned according to the usual convention (A=90+, B=80-89, C=70-79, D=60-69, F below 60).

Assuming a reasonable attempt at a program, program grades will be based 50% on design documentation and 50% on meeting project requirements. Design Documentation must meet class requirements. No late assignments will be accepted.

Attendance in lecture is mandatory. Lab sections are an excellent time to get help.

Regrading:

• Regrades are only possible within ONE WEEK of TURNBACK time. (Not when you get it, when it gets returned to the class.)
• Regrade requests must be in writing -- tell us what you want and why.
• Regrade requests can go to TAs or Mark.
• Any assignment regraded will be COMPLETELY regraded, i.e., we may take off points for something else that we find.

Labs are due by the next day (Thursday) class time.

If you submit something that the TA can't fileIn, she or he will alert you by email. You will have 24 hours to respond to the request with a file that DOES fileIn. If you do not respond, or if the new file does not fileIn, the TA will grade the file by-hand (her/his best guess as to whether it could have possibly worked) for no more than 10% of the grade.
