Alp, I won't have time to do colormap stuff until next week.  Why don't
you keep trying ideas and see if you can come up with something that works.

One thought about the test plan.  Making the ?l.gif images 800x600
might be pushing the 5 minute limit for generating the images.  We can
give it a shot and see, though.

Worst case, we could just generate 18 images in 5 minutes and generate the
big on as soon after as possible?  So in effect the big pic might just not
be as up to date.  In any case, the big picture will reflect choices from
a previous generation.  yse?

Hey,
	I just realized, bob will be out of town this friday, and I can't 
make a meeting this wednesday.  Our design doc is due next wednesday, I 
believe, so do you all think we should meet sometime this week?  I guess 
most of it is Enda and Bob's call since they will do a large part of this.
In any case, Wednesday 4-6pm is out for me.

	Besides the Design doc, when can we involve outsiders in the testing?
I guess where does our progress stand?  Bob, do you need help documenting
your stuff?  

	I'm feeling like I don't have a lot to do, and I should probably
enjoy this time, but I can't stay uninvolved.

return from Tampa on Sunday.  My plane leaves Thursday at 7 pm.  I gues
it would be a good idea for Enda and I at least to meet and talk about
it so we both konw what needs to be done.

Problems/Comments:
    

    The 640 X 480 fractal takes some time to compute.  Some alternatives are
we could display a slightly smaller resolution, or find a faster fractal 
program.  In the mean time this seems like a small issue.

    We have a few bonus ideas ready, if we have the time we will try to include
those.

The following is a breakdown of the grading.

    



    

    Scope (17 out of 20 points)
    


      

    •  Are there pointers to sources for input to testing. OK, but would be better to point directly to the functional requirements section and non-functional requirements section. 

    •  Is there a clear delineation of what activities are subject to
the test plan? yes


    


    Schedule (15 out of 20 points)
    


      

    •  Is there a pointer to the current project schedule at the point
where testing activities are defined and scheduled? No, just a pointer
	to the overall schedule.  Simple thing to fix.  Send the link
	to the explicit place where testing is scheduled in your
	current schedule.  If more than one place, tehn use more than
	one link.


    •  Does the schedule reflect the details of this plan, meaning has
enough time been set aside for the testing that will be performed by
this team?  It is OK if some tests are defined that are not intended
to be completed this quarter, but they should be clearly indicated as
such.  And at least some of the test plan should be executed this
	quarter. I can see unit testing being explicitly identified,
	though the time set for that seems low.  Where are integration
	or validation tests brought out?


    



     Validation tests (45 out of 60 points)
    


      

    •   Is there a test defined for every functional and non-functional
requirement? The non-functional requirements seem to be covered by a
	single test, number 7.  Is that sufficiently detailed plan to
	cover the three NF requirements you listed in your Req. doc?


    •  Is the test clearly defined?  OK, except for Test 7.


    •  Is it clear if/when the test will be conducted this quarter?  OK,
	but it's a bit clumsy to go from test to schedule to figure
	out when the testing will occur.  Information is there, however.


    •  Is there a clear template for reporting test results?  It's
	fairly generic result template.  Not sure it will be that
	useful for all tests.


    




     If you wish to have your Test Plan Document regraded, revise
it within one week of receiving comments. Be sure to maintain a link
to the original version of the Test Plan Document in your notebook
for comparison purposes. No regrading will occur if your revised
document does not contain a proper revision history section which
details the changes  from earlier versions.
