Course Description

This is an introductory undergraduate course on programming language concepts. The GT course catalog entry has general information about CS 3411; the syllabus has detailed information for this quarter's course.

Personnel

Instructor: Spencer Rugaber, CoC 258, spencer@cc.gatech.edu, 894-8450. Office hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays, 2-3:30.

Teaching Assistant: R. Clayton, Pettit desk G4, clayton@cc.gatech.edu, 894 9913. Office hours are 10:00 A.M to 11:00 A.M. on Mondays and Wednesdays at my desk, and 10:00 A.M. to noon on Fridays in the Morgue. You can also set up an appointment for some other time; finger clayton@cc for my schedule. If you can't find me at my desk, look in the network lab (Pettit 138) 'round the corner from my desk.

The Pettit building is open from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Monday through Friday.

Assignments

Newsgroup

You can read or post messages of interest to the class in git.cc.class.3411, a GT local newsgroup. Readers should beware: Netscape versions 1.1N, 1.12 and 2.0 don't display all articles available in the newsgroup. Mosaic 2.6 does (seems to) display all articles.

Slides

The slides used in class are available from the Electronic Slides Reserve. The 3411 lecture notes for spring 96 are also available. Java code examples can be found in the attached tar file.
