CS3760 Spring 1998 Project 3

Here are the support files for the assignment. Note that the assembler is identical to the one provided with Project 1. The assembly-language test code is also taken from Project 1.

handout: project3.ps
assemblers (compile with gcc):
- LC assembler assemble.c (identical to projects 1, 2)
- ROM assembler makerom.c (identical to project 2)
skeleton code:
- simulator sim3-skeleton.c
- decode ROM decode.rom (decodes opcode -> control signals in the ID stage)
test code:
- test code from Project 1 test.s

The assemblers and skeletons will hopefully compile with any ANSI C compiler but have only been tested with GCC on a Sun Sparc running Solaris. Please us know ASAP if you run into problems. Here are corrections to date:

22-May-98: the printed handout should read ``Project 3'' instead of ``Project 2'' (I did it again...).

29-May-98: the lower mux in the EX stage of the printed handout should have its 1/0 labels reversed.

1-Jun-98: the M2 mux in the WB stage of the printed handout should have its 1/0 labels reversed, also.
