• The assignments were graded on a scale of 1 to 10.

• I was looking for a critique of the author's writing. You were to state if the author was biased or objective. Since this same question is to be answered on the next assignment, consider the following:

• Did the author use inflammatory headlines or titles?
• How was the language and phrasing used?
• Did the author try to influence the reader to one side or the other?
• What was the author's purpose in writing the article?
• Did the author have a "message"?

• Please read the "Writing Assignment Guidelines". A large number of people lost 1-2 points for not adhering to the guidelines.

• If you did not address the question of bias, you lost 5 points. If you did not do any analysis of why you thought the author was biased or not, you lost 1-4 points.

• You are supposed to be analyzing the article. Try to keep your own critique as objective as possible, too.
