This project description employs actual video shot to enact a typical session using the Sonopticon. We have overlaid the video footage with graphical approximations of the heads-up display included in the shipping version of Sonopticon. Also, we have mixed fairly complex audio cues and ambient noises into the video to approximate the aural component of Sonopticon.

The storyboards are composed of still frames from the videos which are accompanied by textual descriptions of the scenarios. Each storyboarded scene has links to two RealVideo streams (high and low bandwidths). Viewing these videos is essential to understanding our conception of the Sonopticon project. Indeed, because the quality of the audio is subtle in our project and because audiovisual synchronization is paramount is is recommended that you view the high bandwidth (56KB) version if at all possible. High-quality Quicktime and AVI versions of these videos are available for evaluation in the event that the RealVideo does not work correctly.

Feel free to use our online response forms on each storyboard page to send feedback on the designs. Thanks for your interest in SonopticonTM.
