Physician Credentialling System
One of the many challenges to hospitals, managed-care organizations, and other facilities is assuring that only appropriately certified physicians and allied health professionals are accepted on a facility's medical staff or in a network. As a billing agent for these physicians and professionals, we have a vested interest in verifying their information, preparing the applicable documentation, and ensuring that the credentialling process is relatively painless. This project will involve the development of a data entry and reporting interface for physician credentialling information. Reference: warehouse.chime-net.org/software/hcsw/credential/index.asp

Ph.D. Student Review Database
Ph.D. students in the College of Computing pass many milestones in the program and they have annual reviews in which both they and their advisors submit summaries of their progress. Assuming that we have some type of database tracking all this information, create an interface to the database that provides easy, but secure, access to faculty and college administrators.

Virtual Viet Nam
Create an interface for the person controlling a session with the virtual Viet Nam exposure therapy training environment. This interface helps the controller person specify what happens in the simulation.

Genealogy Tracking System

IP Telephone of the Future
As IP telephony evolves there is the potential for the service to depart from the traditional telephone service. For example, the idea of a line will become antiquated; it might be replaced by the idea of a connection which might have any number of people involved. Further, phones will be customized as a user uses it much like we customize our workstations when we log on. But no one wants to "log on" to a telephone. What will the user interface look like in the future? The project will involve creating a mock-up of an interface on a workstation, and hopefully using it to determine how natural and friendly it is.
