Vision Reading #1
Human facial expressions are a complex combination of many facial
movements and positions. While some people would say that an
expression exists at one single point in time, it is more useful to
view an expression as being a sequence of different facial positions
over a certain amount of time. One can then not only analyze the
position of features on the face, but also plot how the features
deform, and how move in relation to each other. If two different
sequences of images of faces have approximately the same deformations
of the same features, we might be able to guess that those faces may
be making the same expressions.
