The Compiler - Internal News for Faculty and Staff at the College of Computing at Georgia Tech
Issue 2 | June 2006

Message from the Dean

As we end another academic year, I think back to last June and all we've accomplished wondering if we shouldn't rename ourselves "The College of Progress and Growth at Georgia Tech." Our team here at CoC really exceeds the benchmarks of an institution on the move; creating opportunities where there are none, acting quickly and decisively to capture the ones that present themselves, and demonstrating a personal stake in the welfare of the institution and the people that drive it. We are attracting the world's best talent in faculty, our students are feeling more involved than ever, we are a campus example of "where things happen," research funding is up, our rankings are up...the list goes on.

I want to personally thank the faculty, staff, administration, and our esteemed advisory board for your hard work and hand in the successes we've had this year. People around campus and the world are noticing, our work is paying off, and I am looking forward to an even bigger year to come. It certainly is an exciting time to be at the College of Computing.
