GVU Interactivity@GT Event a Huge Success

Avenue A | Razorfish sponsored I@GT for the second consecutive year. Students discussed their work with more than 40 industry guests (some of whom were Georgia Tech alumni) from 30 companies and organizations, including AT&T, Turner Entertainment, Georgia Public Broadcasting, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and IBM. The change to an all-day format allowed undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity to both maximize their time with industry representatives and participate at times that were conducive to their schedules. View photos and further details on the GVU website.

Student iMovie Competition Videos

LIGHTS...CAMERA...ACTION! In January, we asked the students of the College of Computing at Georgia Tech, "what does 'The New Face of Computing' mean to you?" Eleven teams of student filmmakers responded with digital film shorts they shot and edited in one week, those films will be presented to the Georgia Tech community at the Red Carpet Premier and Awards Ceremony.

The three teams who produce the best shorts, as judged by a panel of computing and media experts, will win big prizes, including Apple Macbooks® and iPods®. Judging criteria includes message, overall quality, and technical excellence, and the winners will be announced the evening of March 2, 2007. Watch the movies now.

CoC Award Nominations Can Be Submitted Until February 23

Team 7, led by Beth York, took 1st place, team 4, The New face of Computing, led by Josh Cuneo took 2nd, and team 3, Defining the New Face of Computing, led by Eric Bolten, took 3rd place. Team 7, Scripted also took the People's Choice Award with 200 votes - a 52% share. Watch the movies now.
