Introduction to the Turn-In System
Introduction to the Turn-In System
You may be wondering why the strange code is required in the subject line of your turnins. We're going to be trying an automated turn-in system this quarter. The advantage for you is that it will tell you via receipt if we got your turn-in. The advantage for us is that you mail to one and only one place every lab, and we forward it appropriately for grading.
The turn-in code has three parts, separated by commas, e.g., "TI,lab1,345678901"
- The first part, "TI," is used to identify a turn-in message.
- The second part is a code used to identify the turnin, e.g., "lab1" versus "design1" versus "program2". We'll announce the codes to use with each assignment.
- The third part is your student number, with no spaces or dashes. NOTE!!!: Your student number does not start with "GT" and does not have < or > in it!
The turn-in system will catch a variety of errors:
- If you send an empty message, the receipt will tell you that.
- If the code you sent is invalid, the receipt will tell you that.
- If your student number doesn't match, the receipt will tell you that.
- If you sent to the wrong place or you forget "TI", your lack of receipt will tell you that.
I hope this makes the grading process easier for everyone.
