Prototype Deliverable Comments
Team: Yes, No, Maybe So ...
Grade: (88 out of 100)
The following is a breakdown of the grading.
Document presentation (5 out of 5)
Important points:
- Organization: OK
- Document author: OK
- use of English: OK
Comments:
Project Description of Target System (5 out of 5)
Comments:
Installation manual (17 out of 20)
- installation instructions
- Software available: NO, please make compressed files directly
available from Web page. Just put the zipped files in your
project directory.
- Target platform described: OK
Comments:
User guide (15 out of 20)
- directions geared toward user: OK, but they appear to be
inaccurate with respect to the running prototype
demonstrated. Double clicking does not bring up the project
descriptions, nor does it produce a description in the text boxes
below the map. The only way to do that is through the Projects
button. It is also very confusing what the relation between the
staff and projects is.
- supporting information (screen dumps, access to prototype): you
should provide screen dumps.
- clarity: not good
Comments: As I recall, the show path functionality doesn't work in your
prototype. It should not be mentioned here.
Guide to the source code (19 out of 20)
- description of how code is structured in file system (or
equivalent level of detail): OK, but you did not describe the map
building tool at all.
- clarity
Comments:
Live demonstration (27 out of 30)
- Attendance: all present
- evidence of running system: OK
- Discussion: OK
Comments: I understand that you built a map tool and that it was
therefore a tedious task to create a map of the GVU Lab. But since
your original charter was to create Cyberguide for the GVU Lab, you
should have put some effort into making a realistic portion of the GVU
lab with projects assigned to it. Much of the promised functionality
of this system (positioning, ability to access project descriptions
directly from the map) are not provided in the final system. You are
explicit about the lack of positioning, but not about the lack of
direct access to projects from map nor about lack of show path
functionality. Will there be another version of the system with this
functionality before the end of the quarter? If so, I will adjust
your grade here. If not, then you must change your documentation
accordingly.
This document will not be officially regraded. If you do make
significant changes to this document, then please indicate that when
you turn in your final notebook and I will judge then whether you
deserve a grade adjustment.
