• There was a difference between definitions described by multimedia representations and text.
• a need to validate networked material
• Who is going to check the validity of this material
  • one opportunity => index pages of specific domains
• tele-apprenticeships => looking for experts in a domain to help in this project. (One possibility are grad students)
• for asking questions, there were two cases that existed
  1. ask questions one at a time
  2. students colaborated on questions and then they asked them
  The experts felt that the colaborative questions were better questions.
  • found it was hard to ask the right questions
  • they revised the questions in order to entice the experts into answering
• symantics and culture pose a problem
  • students have had 12 years of education one way, and now they are being told to learn another way
