Alternative Interface Designs
2.0 Introduction
After specifying the requirements for a new interface to the drive-through
system at fast-food restaurants, our group concocted three unique designs
to meet those requirements. By specifying these alternatives, we were
able to explore the complete design space of our problem. From these
designs, we will choose one to prototype and test in the next two phases.
Common User Scenario
For each design, we will evaluate a common user scenario: A user
drives into the parking lot of a fast-food restaurant, and wishes to
obtain a hamburger with no pickles, two small fries, and a large diet soda,
and desires to pay using a credit card. By seeing how the same scenario
is handled differently by the three systems, we provide a common basis
for their comparison.
