Human-Computer Interaction
CS 6751 Fall 1998
Midterm review
The midterm will be held during class time, Tuesday, November 3 in
Room 102 of the College of Computing. For those needing extra room
to write, the Student Services conference room will also be available.
General format
- short answer, objective questions (true/false, matching, multiple choice, etc.)
- short essay questions
- 1.5 hours, closed book, closed notes, open mind
Topics
In general, the exam will cover material in Norman's book, Chapters
1-6 and 11 in the textbook, and all supplemental readings provided via the
syllabus on the topic of evaluation techniques.
All material covered during lectures is likely exam material, including
information retrieved and displayed from the Web during class.
For the curious ones, here is the
pre-course examination you took at the beginning of the course.
It is in Rich Text Format, which you should be able to read into
MS Word and a number of other word processors. Hopefully, you
will be encouraged by what you now know!
Also, you might want to review the lecture from October 29th, when
we discussed issues with the exam.
You may also want to look at the midterm review from Fall 1997. The
biggest difference between then and now is that we are adding Chapter
6 on user modelling to the list.
Remember, we fight together in a battle against ignorance.
