Important Dates for FSE 16 Technical Papers

Deadline for submissions: March 7, 2008
Notification of acceptance: May 26, 2008
Conferences dates: November 11-13, 2008

Goal and Scope

The 16th International Symposium on the Foundations of Software Engineering (FSE 16) will feature invited speakers and technical paper presentations on new results related to both traditional and emerging fields of software engineering.

FSE 16 invites submissions describing original unpublished research results or presenting original experience reports. Research-based submissions should clearly describe the relevance of the results to software engineering goals and should include a clear presentation of the validation methodology used. Experience reports must offer novel lessons learned that would be of interest to a broad software engineering audience.

Topics of interest include, but are not restricted to:

Analysis and Testing
Architecture and Design
Components and Middleware
Configuration Management
Dependability (safety, security,reliability)
Distributed, Web-based and Internet-Scale Software Engineering
Economics
Empirical Studies
Evolution
Feature Interaction, Crosscutting Concerns
Generative Programming, Software Reuse
Metrics
Process and Workflow
Quality and Performance
Requirements Engineering
Reengineering and Reverse Engineering
Specification and Verification
Tools and Environments

Submission and Evaluation

Submissions to FSE 16 must not have been previously published or be under consideration for publication in any other conference, journal, book, or workshop. Authors must comply with ACM policy and procedures with respect to plagiarism.

Submissions as well as final papers must be submitted as PDF files (using Type 1 fonts) that strictly adhere to ACM proceedings format, including font sizes, line spacing, and margins. Papers are strictly limited to 11 pages. Submissions exceeding 11 pages will be summarily rejected without review.

Use the FSE submissions web site to submit your paper using CyberChair.

Publication and Presentation

Accepted papers will be published in the ACM digital library. We anticipate placing accepted papers in the ACM digital library prior to the Conference. If an author of an accepted paper has patent applications for which the early release of the paper may create a patent problem, please contact Gail Murphy to have your paper held until the first day of the conference.

Accepted papers must be presented at the conference by one of the authors, without exception.
