Prior to joining the College, Dr. Edwards was a Principal Scientist at the Palo Alto Research Center (PARC, formerly Xerox PARC), where he managed the Ubiquitous Computing group. His research interests include ubiquitous computing (obviously), technologies to enable rich user experiences, evolvable and adaptable systems, multimodal interfaces, and human-centered approaches to networking. He is a technologist at heart, but enjoys working with designers, as well as ethnographers and other social scientists.
