THE ENVIRONMENT MENU

Edit Schooling Fish

The schooling fish around you are purely decorative, except when the grid (see below) is activated. You can change the color and number of schooling fish with these options.

Edit Time Speed

Changing the speed of time affects the speed of everything in the environment: navigation, swimming along trails, sequence animation, schooling fish, etc. You can choose to leave the navigation speed unaffected, so that you can easily watch everything else happen quickly or slowly.

Axes

In the First Person view you can use the Axes to see which direction you want the fish to move. The axes will show you which direction you are facing with reference to the Cartesian, Spherical, or Cylindrical axes. Use the buttons in the Move tab to choose which set of axes is used.

Cartesian Axes

Spherical Axes

Cylindrical Axes

Grid

The schooling fish will align themselves at each integer along the cartesian axes (x, y, z). If you drop the Anchor (using the Drop Anchor Shortcut Button) while the grid is active, the grid will move into alignment with the Anchor. If you pick up the Anchor, the grid will move back to the origin. To prevent the grid from moving, choose Lock Grid from the Environment menu before dropping or picking up the Anchor.
