The ELC Group in the College of Computing at the Georgia Institute of Technology is led by Associate Professor Amy Bruckman. Our research focuses on the design of communities on the Internet.
Our work is inspired by an educational theory called constructionism – the idea that people learn best when they are making something that is personally meaningful to them. Traditional research on constructionist learning tends to focus on individuals. We are particularly interested in the ways communities of learners can motivate and support one another's learning experiences. Computer networks have the potential to facillitate community-supported constructionist learning.

If you're interested in learning more about our research, send us E-mail -– we'd love to hear from you.

We hold a weekly seminar to discuss research and technology relevant to our work.
