As the oldest son of the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Mrs. Coretta Scott King, Martin Luther King III is carrying the torch lit by both of his parents into the 21st century. Martin's dedication to creating and implementing strategic nonviolent action to rid the world of social, political, and economic injustice has propelled him to the forefront as one of the nation's most ardent advocates for the poor, the oppressed, and the disillusioned.

About the MLK Celebration
The 2013 commemoration of the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. At the Georgia Institute of Technology include various educational programs and service opportunities to encourage active participation in the celebration by the campus and nearby community. Campus sponsors include the Office of Institute Diversity, the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts, GT Student Affairs, GT Student Center and the Office of Government and Community Relations.
