B.S. in Mathematics and Computer Science,
Vanderbilt University , 1987;
M.S. in Information and Computer Science from
Georgia Institute of Technology 1992;
Ph.D.
Georgia Institute of Technology 1995;
Russ' research interests include:
interoperable systems through the use of multiple protocols,
scalable servers using multicast delivery,
and the design of future protocols for high-speed networks.
In addition, he is currently studying circuit allocation techniques
for ATM networks
as part of the Ohio Computing and Communications ATM Research Network
OCARNET project.
Russ was an Assistant Professor of Computer Science
at the University of Dayton from 1995 to 1997.
From 1990 to 1995 he was a graduate student at the
College of Computing of
Georgia Institute of Technology .
His doctoral dissertation is entitled:
"Solutions For Ubiquitous Information Services: Multiple Protocols
and Scalable Servers".
His dissertation advisor is
Prof. Mostafa Ammar.
Before graduate school, Dr. Clark worked as a Software Engineer for
Data General Corporation for three years.
Russ enjoys spending time with his growing
family.
In his "spare" time he plays tennis and, to quote a famous bumper sticker,
he'd "rather be sailing".
"Life is too short to use Microsloft products."
